Community Outreach

Mental health advocacy is dedicated to safeguarding the rights of individuals facing mental disorders, striving to reduce stigma and discrimination while promoting understanding and empathy. It involves initiatives aimed at raising awareness about mental health conditions, challenging stereotypes, and ensuring equitable access to care and support services. By advocating for dignity, autonomy, and inclusion, mental health advocacy seeks to create a supportive environment where individuals can access the resources and assistance they need to thrive. Through collaborative efforts, we can work towards a society that prioritizes mental wellness and respects the inherent worth and dignity of every individual, regardless of their mental health status.

BEYOND THE FOUR WALLS

By venturing Beyond the Four Walls of educational institutions, students undergo sensitization to the multifaceted issues and challenges surrounding mental health. Recognizing that true understanding of the needs of individuals living with mental illnesses (PMIs) and their families can only be achieved through direct interaction, students are trained to serve as mental health ambassadors. This proactive engagement not only fosters empathy but also serves to bolster the effectiveness of the District Mental Health Programme (DMHP) by creating heightened community awareness.
Innovative approaches are utilized to communicate various aspects of mental health, including symptoms, causes, treatments, and dispelling myths and misconceptions.
